anatole 'rising, especially of the sun or moon' (cf. Gk.
anatéllo 'i rise up'), thus the place where the sun rises (вос-/
ana- 'upward' + ток, cognate with течь 'to flow', CSl *tekti 'flow, run') cf. Lat.
oriens 'rising sun, east'.
